So why don’t we just fix it? In this eight-part video series, nine child reporters from Amsterdam seek answers to that very question. The Little Match Girl brings together children and influential figures—from politicians and CEOs to economists and even royalty—to challenge authority and explore new perspectives on poverty and inequality.
Through candid and fearless conversations, these young reporters ask the big questions: What do statistics really tell us? Who holds the power to create change? Should we rethink our value system? Or is it simply time to start listening to children? By pairing influential professionals with bold, inquisitive young minds, this series provides a fresh, unfiltered perspective on the deep-rooted inequalities in our society.
Originally aired in 2021 on SALTO TV and featured on Cinekid Festival’s online platform, the series also gained recognition in Het Parool, which highlighted our campaign to bring child poverty discussions into classrooms.
