Al eeuwenlang streven mensen naar het eeuwige leven. Hoewel het ooit een onmogelijke droom was, bieden technologische ontwikkelingen nu mogelijkheden om de dood uit te stellen of zelfs te overstijgen. Chris Everlast onderzoekt samen met zijn digitaal geconserveerde vrouw Elsa hoe ver we bereid zijn te gaan en welke maatschappelijke gevolgen dit heeft. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Als oprichter van het fictieve bedrijf Memento<\/strong> is Chris gespecialiseerd in het scannen van personen tijdens hun leven, zodat ze digitaal kunnen voortleven na hun dood. Dankzij AI-gestuurde simulaties kunnen mensen blijven communiceren met hun dierbaren, chatten, herinneringen ophalen en zelfs plannen maken voor de toekomst. Met behulp van een 360-gradenscan en 160 camera\u2019s bewaart Memento stemmen, gezichtsuitdrukkingen en spraakpatronen om een griezelig levensechte digitale aanwezigheid te cre\u00ebren. <\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Memento is fictief, maar de technologie erachter is echt en klaar om ge\u00efmplementeerd te worden. Chris daagt het publiek uit om na te denken over de ethische, psychologische en sociale implicaties van digitale technologie\u00ebn voor het hiernamaals. Hoe gaan we om met rouw als de overledene nooit helemaal verdwenen is? Wie beheert iemands digitale nalatenschap? En hoe ver zijn wij bereid te gaan om de dood te verslaan?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
