For centuries, humans have sought eternal life. While once an impossible dream, advancements in technology now offer ways to delay death—or even transcend it. Chris Everlast, alongside his digitally preserved wife Elsa, explores how far we are willing to go and the societal consequences of this pursuit.

As founder of the fictional company Memento, Chris specializes in scanning individuals during their lifetime to allow them to live on digitally after death. Through AI-driven simulations, people can continue interacting with their loved ones, chatting, reminiscing, and even making plans for the future. Using a 360-degree scan and 160 cameras, Memento preserves voices, expressions, and speech patterns to create an eerily lifelike digital presence.

While Memento is fictional, the technology behind it is real and ready to be implemented. Chris challenges audiences to consider the ethical, psychological, and social implications of digital afterlife technologies. How do we handle grief when the deceased never truly disappear? Who controls a person’s digital legacy? And how far are we willing to go to defeat death?
