Inspired by the idea that democracy requires ongoing participation, the program offers interactive workshops, training sessions, and real-world exercises that help people develop the “muscles” needed for democratic engagement. Democracy Fitness is based on a concept by the Danish organization Demokrati Fitness. In the Netherlands it is executed and further developed by Bureau Burgerberaad and Studio Possible Futures.
